This is actually the first frame of a video I shot of a guy launching. It seemed like he was a beginner, because he got a lot of coaching. Basically the paragliders lay out their parachute, make sure all of the strings are untangled, and then run off the edge of the mountain.

That makes a lot of sense until the whole "run of the edge of the mountain" thing...
I can't believe you guys haven't done this yet. Seems right up your alley...

Well Dan, I am TOTALLY up for it, but as you can see, John has a little problem with me (or him) running off the edge of a mountain. :) It looks really peaceful once you get up, though. And the landings don't seem too tough, based on what I've seen. Maybe someday he'll come around.
