Peak 8
This month we celebrated a reunion year. Every other year my mom's side of the family (including 9 "kids" and their families) gets together for ~5 days for a big party. This year the reunion was in Breckenridge. The house we stayed in was at 10k feet elevation. For this hike, we took a chair lift to ~12k feet, and then hiked the rest of the way up to Peak 8, elevation 12,987 ft. If you look closely, you'll see that during the winter the chair lift actually goes to about 500 feet from the top, making this one of the most extreme ski runs around.

Amy, great pics! You, John and the other "flat-landers," as Uli calls them, are to be congratulated for making such a steep climb at such a high altitude! Love, Sally
