Trillium?

This is your mom talking, Amy, and I can definitely identify that as a trillium. They grow wild in Wisconsin woods at this time of year, but they're supposedly "protected", so your're not supposed to pick them. I never let that stop me.
Perhaps we should all start planting trillium. I have seen some in my neighborhood, and think that surely I can follow suit in my little yard. Here's a link about why trillium are protected and ways to harvest the seeds to grow more:

Trillium is actualy from the same family as the dogwood. The dogwood trillium ext are protected in bc and can grow into muck larger plants. Nice Photo. I create woodcuts (a form of printmaking) I happened to stumble onto your blog... anyway i have a lovely print of a trillium, and a dogwood, I wil post them today.. have a look
