Construction work in India was much different than what I'm used to. Much of the work is still done manually with very simple tools. In this photo you can see a woman preparing a new sidewalk with a watering can.
Seeing new buildings appear to grow out of old ones was common in Mumbai and most of the major cities of India that we saw. The country certainly seems to be in the middle of a transition.
Chandra Uncle took us to see what the Mumbai train station is like. It was packed, even at a slow time in the day! There were so many people walking every direction that it was difficult to stand still.
