Last night John and I had a long night of partying, which started at James' apartment. This picture is of my sister Mary (long hair) and her friend Kristen, both of whom were in attendance. After James' place we went to Neumos, where we saw the band United States of Electronica. They had a lot of energy, but I wasn't really into their music. John and I went home "early" (after 1am, I believe) and this morning we plan to watch the Packers play Cincinatti at Goofy's, a Packer bar in Seattle. Posted by Picasa

This is a view of Laura at Bridal Veil Falls. BVF was a nice, quick hike for the limited time we had, and the falls made for a nice climax of the hike.  Posted by Picasa

Last month I had a week long of "GMI U" training. Every month all of the new hires come together for a week learning about each different department of the company and what it does. I volunteered to take any interested parties hiking the following weekend, and surprisingly only two people took me up on the offer: Imogene (on the left, from New Zealand), and Colin (from London). Imogene really enjoyed the trip because it reminded her of home, and Colin did extremely well considering he was probably still a bit hung over from clubbing the night before. Posted by Picasa

Diana drove us to Powell's bookstore in her graduation present - a brand new BMW M3! Fortunately she wasn't as friendly with the parking lot pole as others before her had been. Posted by Picasa

This picture was taken in Portland, and shows a reflection of John admiring the old military jeep parked across the street. Posted by Picasa

I don't remember what we were talking about here, but we always seem to have fun on our hikes (even if we do miss turnoffs and never get to the end of the hike). Posted by Picasa

A Monster Slug is on the loose! We narrowly escaped its deadly, slimey path Beyond Oyster Dome.  Posted by Picasa

Beyond Oyster Dome we passed by a couple of small, murky lakes. On one lake/stream beavers had obviously done a number on the trees to make a dam. Posted by Picasa

Beyond Oyster Dome

I won't pretend to rival John's Oyster Dome shots, but I think this one is interesting because the tide is lower and you can actually see the oyster beds in the water. (I guess that's how the hike was named.) This picture was actually taken the time that John, Laura, and I tried to get to The Oyster Dome but never made it because our trail guide failed to mention that we were supposed to veer to the left after the Bat Caves. That day we ended up hiking probably 5 miles in before we decided to head back. Posted by Picasa

Berry picking in action! Posted by Picasa

This is a picture of Lauren using our rock border as a balance beam. We've had fun having Lauren and her mom staying with us recently. This shot was taken just before we went out to pick a bunch of wild blackberries. Posted by Picasa
