Here's Mom and me at their condo in FL. This Friday marks the date of the 4th annual Mother's Day Blood Drive that my mom has organized as a way to "give something back" and help others in memory of my brother requiring complete blood transfusions twice a day when he was in the hospital 7 years ago. The theme of the event is "A Gallon or so...For Joe". The event is being held at the Blood Center of Southeastern WI in Sheboygan. To participate remotely, just mention keyword "Feider Drive in Sheboygan".

Fortunately, the blood drive on Friday was reported a great success. A record number of pints was donated, shattering last year's record by 15 pints! Thanks to all who participated.
Hurrah!
I need to give blood again. I used to give blood on a regular basis, despite passing out afterward.
Yeah, I never liked needles either, so I typically would nearly pass out during the blood draw versus after. (To make matters worse, my veins are typically difficult to find, apparently.) A couple years ago my blood was found to falsely trip the HIV test (twice), and as a precautionary measure donors such as me are not allowed to donate again. I guess that's unfortunate to the people who need blood, but fortunate for me in that I now have a valid excuse not to donate. :)
I didn't know that, Amy! What a frustrating and confusing experience.
Love the pic of you and Hot Peggy.
